Originally a Killraven story. Art alterations: Ape heads drawn onto Martian bodies and Killraven costume modifications. Takes inspiration from H. G. Well's novel "The War of the Worlds." This storyline spans issues 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30.

As part of the design of the letters page the bottom quarter of the page has an image. It consists of key ape characters from Planet of the Apes; includes two Gorillas with M-16 rifles from the front row of figures from the cover of Planet of the Apes (Marvel, 1974 series) #1 (August 1974). These parts of Bob Larkin's painting have been reproduced in greytones/greywash.
