In July 1969, Effigy learns of an alien plot to destroy the Apollo 11 mission when it reaches the Moon. Using a repaired alien spacecraft, the First Line fly to the Moon to stop a group of aliens and supervillains from succeeding. Despite the fact that the aliens are his fellow Skrulls, Effigy murders them to foil their plans. After returning to Earth, Effigy (in the form of Jacob Scott) tearfully watches as new citizens take their Oath of Allegiance. In the late 22nd century, Pixie is arrested by the Skrulls for threats against the Skrull ambassador and suspicion of sedition.

Indexer Notes

The story sequence featuring the First Line's adventure during America's first trip to the Moon takes place in July 1969.

First appearance of Howler, Axis, Scythe, and Typhoon.

Although Howler appears with blonde fur in this issue, he appears with white fur in issue #4. It is not yet known if that was a plot point or merely a coloring mistake.
