Bev’s fiancé George works as a waiter at a nightclub to pay his medical school tuition. Club owner Joe uses a one-way mirror to show Bev that George is dating one of the chorus girls. Bev breaks up with George and starts dating Joe. However, George proves that it was a set-up job, punches Joe, and is reunited with Bev.

Synopsis
Mona’s father forbids her to see Bob, “a drunkard’s son!” Mona receives a letter from her Aunt Jane. Jane’s diary tells how she moved to New York and fell in love with young doctor Dick. But Jane learned Dick’s brother had been accused of a notorious murder and broke up with him, even though his brother was cleared. Dick went to China and died of plague. Jane became a nurse and dedicated her life to helping others in India. Mona decides to overrule her father and marry Bob.
Office worker Vivian has no social life because she takes care of her elderly mother after work each day. Vivian has a crush on their neighbor Bill, who is popular and handsome. When Vivian is locked out one night, Bill helps her and they fall in love. They get married but Vivian keeps their relationship a secret from her mother. When her mother catches them together, she has an attack. However, when Bill explains that he’s married to Vivian, the older woman blesses their union and they’ll all live together from now on.
