- Synopsis
- With the fabled "Hooded One" safely in his dungeon, Lord Maskul is haughty and defiant in his negotiations with Lord Raven. As they are parlaying, Adam and Ketch are busy escaping from their cell. They are discovered, however, and The Dark Man knocks them down into the Death-Maze. Adam makes it to the center of the maze to face down the deadly guardian, the Doomster. Riadne and her rebels lead a revolt against Maskul and, thanks to being treated so shoddily, Raven refuses to help.

- Synopsis
- Adam faces the Doomster in the center of the Death-Maze. He remembers that, in the real world, he was condemned to die for killing his brother in a drunken brawl. He decides to give up in despair and escape, leaving Ketch to face the Doomster alone, but is reminded by his hood and noose that being deceptive and traitorous is what continues to get him into trouble. He saves Ketch from the Doomster and finds, as they emerge from the Death-Maze, that Riadne and the rebels have overthrown Lord Maskul. Adam awakens in the real world to find he has survived his hanging and is now a better man.
