- Synopsis
- Lonely hunter discovers gold in the mountains. Hunter is captured and tortured by a power-hungry lord, but there is another problem: the gold technically lies in the neighboring Geishu Province. As if that weren't enough news for the Geishu border, there is a sudden outbreak of the plague. Lord Noriyuki sends his bodyguard Tomoe to investigate.

- Synopsis
- Lord Sanada is operating a secret gold mine in the neighboring Geishu Province - and keeping inquisitive minds at bay with rumors of the plague. The warriors sent by Lord Noriyuki to investigate have been either killed or captured, and Sanada's samurai are now in pursuit of Tomoe. Back at the Geishu castle, ambitious sycophant Lord Horikawa plots to get rid of Tomoe himself.

Lord Sanada, a malicious and greedy opportunist who is operating an illegal gold mine, sent his murderous warriors after Tomoe. And though Lord Noriyuki knows that Tomoe is missing, the jealous Lord Horikawa advises him to do nothing.

Sanada has been killing those who would get in the way, and his deadliest enforcer Noriko "the blood princess" is none other than Tomoe's own cousin. Meanwhile, the young page Motokazu fears for Tomoe's safety and rides off without permission to help her.
