In the aftermath of Secret War Nick Fury has gone deep underground. Valentina de Fontaine turns up and spends the night with Nick. The next day Nick is suspicious of her and tracks her, only to over hear her discussing his elimination. When she returns Nick demands her to reveal who she really is, after refusing, he shoots her. The body transforms into a Skrull. Nick warns Maria Hill of the threat, without mentioning Skrull's and then jumps from the Helicarrier. He also warns Spider-Woman of the threat and tells her to get inside SHIELD as a agent. We see Nick looking at a wall of photos of superheroes, some circled red, some blue.
