Synopsis:
Julie meets Johnny, a talented, but ambition-less bridge designer, when he sprains his ankle near the Jones' house. Johnny falls for Julie and wants to marry her immediately. Julie loves him, but when she meets the wife of Johnny's boss, she worries about Johnny's lack of interest in his career and how it will impact their life. Julie's questions prod Johnny into demanding a raise and taking his job more seriously. Julie is getting the house ready for their wedding when Johnny is killed in an explosion at the site of the bridge construction.

Synopsis:

Synopsis:
Carroll Wyngate is new in Devon and works with Pops for Mr. Hennessey. The Joneses show friendship to Carroll and his wife Zelma, but Carroll is actually planning a robbery at work. He puts on a mask and holds up Pops at gunpoint. Pops could activate an alarm inches from his foot, but thinks he recognizes Carroll's voice and fails to act. The police suspect Pops of being involved in the robbery until Julie's cooperation with the police leads to Carroll being caught.

Synopsis:
Julie is staked to two weeks in the city taking courses on merchandising and Eve goes with her. Eve's real motive for going along is to get a job in the city and she lands one as a typist for a literary agent. Famous author Grady Worlock is writing a book about a teen-aged girl in love with an older man, but needs to use Eve to research a real teenager's reactions. The research turns serious and Eve has to tell him she doesn't love him. When it is time for Julie to go home, Eve decides to stay in the city.

Synopsis:
Julie returns home to find that Gig Holly, former beau of both Julie and Eve, has returned to Devon with a new wife from a wealthy background. Laura wants to fit in with the residents of Devon and Julie suggests she throw a party. Laura hires a fancy party planner who tries to stir up trouble, but eventually she is fired and Julie helps Laura throw a successful party with an outdoor cookout.

Synopsis:
Athena Marmon once ruled New York society with her wealth, beauty and ability to make or break people socially. Now, in her old age, she agrees to have her memoirs published and Maggi sends Eve to handle the dictation. While there, Eve meets Billy, the son of a man who once rejected Athena in favor of another woman. Now Athena accuses Billy's late father of forgery and blackmails Eve into having the accusation included in her memoirs. But Athena's longtime servant, Louis, stands up to her and tells the truth. Billy proposes to Eve and Eve decides to return to Devon to think about it.
