Lassie and Lieutenant Bill with other policemen investigate the boat "Lady Luck" for smuggled items. They spot nothing until Lassie grabs a fish. At first thinking she was stealing food, they pulled her away from the fish. But Lassie kept prodding at the fish until someone notices a bottle inside. The Captain pulls a gun but is jumped by Lassie and stopped. The crew is arrested for smuggling perfume.

Synopsis
The Air Force is dropping hay on starving cattle during a great Western blizzard. Lassie can sense when they are overhead the cattle and the pilots drop the hay onto the cattle. On the way back the engine catches fire and they crash. Lassie runs through the blizzard to get to the headquarters. The next aircrew takes Lassie with them and she can identify when they are over the downed pilots. After the Colonel awards Lassie bombardier's wings.
Lassie seems uneasy as she follows miners into a coal mine. While working, the miners are buried alive in a mine collapse. The miners try to dig out but after an hour they collapse due to the lack of oxygen. Lassie continues to dig for them until she reaches through to miners trying to dig them out, saving the trapped miners' lives.
