- Synopsis
- Superman continues walking across the country, visiting Cincinnati, and then Danville, Ohio. He explains to Batman why he's doing this. Meanwhile, a fragment of New Krypton has infected a teacher, and she passes the infection on to the town drunk, who gains superpowers from it. He challenges and fights Superman. The fight destroys a lot of the town before the powers wear off. Although Superman fixes the damage, he is blamed for causing it.

Story continued from the previous issue, and continues in the next issue.
Danville is a thinly-veiled reference to Glenville, the Cleveland neighborhood where Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created Superman in the 1930s. The story features Glenville High School, which is where Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel first met at the age of 16, and shows the actual facade of the building, and some of the story is set inside the school.
When this book shipped a month late, there were complaints from a retailer who had tried to publicize Superman's visit to Cincinnati with various events. The writer publicly apologized for the lateness, citing a recurring problem with bronchitis on his part.
