Synopsis
In an idealistic quandary, the Exiles realize that the fight between the Fantastic Four and the Mole Man appears to be a no-win scenario. Gwen rejects Spider-Man for not taking Doom's side in the battle. Thunderbird helps Psylocke and Cat drive Doom's men out of the crystal palace. The Exiles prepare to jump out of their current mission without any real resolution but Reed takes matters into his own hands and blows up the entire planet to wrest it from Doom's oppressive control. The Exiles are once again scattered across realities.
The Exiles are all gathered at the crystal palace and try to unwind as they decide the next step in their lives and the fate of their team. Three core members leave while the remaining heroes prepare for more adventures in the multiverse.
Earth's last remaining heroes use Cerebra to try and contact the Exiles in hopes that they will help defeat the Hulk and his alien allies who have conqured their earth.
Quentin arrives in a reality where he has to fight a warped version of himself and is assisted by Nighthawk, the only hero left on this world even though he has no powers. Quentin acquires a Tallus that begins to direct his actions.
The Tallus takes Quentin to a world where he is tasked with placing flowers on Sunfire's grave and he is rewarded with a little Exiles' history lesson by Luke Cage.
The Timebroker brings Quentin to the crystal palace and tells him that he wants him to lead a new team of Exiles made up of the heroes he has already met to right wrongs in the timestream.
