Synopsis
At a society party, Bruce Wayne encounters Mallory, a woman he met as a young girl in his own childhood at a summer camp--the girl with whom he shared his first kiss. Mallory introduces Bruce to her father--who turns out to be gangster Lew Moxon. Oracle reports to Bruce that Moxon has had extensive surgery to increase his reflexes and brainpower. When Deadshot sends sniper fore into the party, Bruce changes to Batman and swings to intercept. Deadshot targets Batman's swinging line, shoots and severs it...leaving Batman plummeting to the street below.

Synopsis
His shoulder dislocated from the fall, Bruce dines with Mallory and Lex Moxon. Mallory shares a childhood memory of the summer at camp with Bruce. Later, Batman finds Mallory is entwined in her father's criminal empire. Staking out Moxon's penthouse to apprehend Deadshot, Batman faces off against Moxon's bodyguard Zeiss. Deadshot enters the penthouse, shoots Lew Moxon and Batman, both non-fatally. Moxon is paralyzed and unable to speak; Mallory vows vengeance on both Deadshot and Batman. In the back garden of Commission Gordon's former house, Batman soliloquizes on his failure.
