Two covers were done for this issue; this one featuring a kid in a Superman shirt with a black eye, and an alternate one featuring Superman reaching out his hand (10 issues for 1 issue mixture).

Synopsis:
Superman continues walking across the country, visiting Chicago and Mt. Prospect, IL. People have been avoiding him, but one person is looking forward to his arrival, a child who has been regularly beaten by his father. He wants to signal Superman to get his help. He tries to stop his father from beating his mother again, but gets thrown in the basement. Superman hears his cries for help, and intervenes. But Superman has also been having nightmares of a battle with a creature, and when he awakens, he is bruised.
