Synopsis:
Uncle Scrooge, through his lawyer, give both Gladstone and Donald sailing ship, and just a few minutes later they learn that Scrooge has been lost in a storm in the South Seas. Both Donald and Gladstone set sail for the islands where Scrooge was last seen, and along the way, Gladstone has nothing but good luck and Donald has nothing but bad.

A redrawn version of this story, with art by Daan Jippes appears in Carl Barks Library (Another Rainbow, 1983 series) #6 May 1990; Walt Disney's Donald Duck Adventures (Disney, 1990 series) #26 July 1992; Carl Barks Library of Walt Disney's Donald Duck Adventures in Color (Gladstone, 1994 series) #14. Synopsis by Michael Barrier from "Carl Barks and the Art of the Comic Book" (M. Lilien, 1982).

In the Fantagraphics "Lost in the Andes" book Francesco Stajano and Leonardo Gori note that the reproduction materials for this story were missing for decades. It wasn't until 2011 that this story was finally reprinted using original artwork.
