Cover reprints the first, introductory, page of The Kin-Der-Kids comic strip, without the blurb "Feininger the famous German artist exhibiting the characters he will create".
Each Sunday strip had its own title. Above is the title of the first week of the narrative.
Bill Blackbeard's introduction says that Lyonel Feininger was a renowned European cartoonist at that time (although born and raised in the U.S), and was hired by the Tribune to appeal to the large German population in the Chicago area.
The first appearance of the strip was titled "Wee Willie Winkie's World, or how things looked to Wee Willie Winkie". Successive strips had the name of the feature, but no additional title. The strips are not dated (other than the year of copyright) and this book does not say which dates the series began or ended. The dates in the reprint note per Don Markstein's Toonopedia site.
Caption says this was created after he had retired from comics "to a long and prestigious career in painting, illustration, and related fields".
