Indexer Notes

Origin story. Caption on splash reads in part, "Now, in answer to your thousands of letters, we present the thrilling tale of how that legend was born!" - Tom Lammers.
Joe Maneely splash panel and Shores and Maneely throughout with Maneely doing more than Shores. - Doc V.
JVJ Notes: DocV's got it all backwards. He's seeing Maneely on the SURFACE throughout because Joe is inking and he's losing sight of Shores because Joe is overwhelming Syd's pencils with his inks. It's a different Maneely because he's inking someone else and being faithful to those pencils. DocV is not used to seeing that side of Maneely.

Indexer Notes

Joe Maneely but the layouts look wrong. Maybe someone else. Wouldn't make sense but who knows? - Doc V.
JVJ Notes: I'll be more definite than DocV's "guess". These are surely Maneely inks, and I'm pretty sure they are his pencils, too, but I'll accept DocV's caution on that part of it.
