Issue Notes

This issue is a variant of The Amazing Spider-Man (Marvel, 1963 series) #188 [Newsstand].

Variants of this type were distributed under limited deals between publishers and distribution "jobbers" (Whitman was one, but not the only one) who could get comics into outlets that did not consistently carry comics. The retail package was a bag containing more than one comic.
