- Synopsis:
- For many months Patsy has not had a letter from Buzz. She was sure he had found another girl, but she discovers the real reason is that he enlisted to fight in Vietnam. Now Buzz is back home to recuperate from battle wounds and Patsy is filled with remorse for ever having doubted his love. Strangely, Buzz refuses to see Patsy. She has been trying to get over Buzz, and has dated Mike Herald during Buzz's absence. Hedy, Patsys' roommate, is given a packet of Buzz's letters from overseas which were delayed in the mail, explaining why Patsy didn't hear from him. Patsy finally sees Buzz in the hospital, but Buzz is distant and cool. He comes to dinner at Patsy and Hedy's place, only to announce to Patsy that he has fallen out of love with her and that their relationship is over. He reveals to Hedy and Nan that he truly does love Patsy, but he is afraid that he may be wounded again, perhaps more seriously, and wishes to spare Patsy the pain of caring for a crippled man. This storyline continues in the next issue and concludes with #124, the final issue of the series.
