Synopsis
1868. Lt. Blueberry is assigned Marshal of Palomito, Arizona. He saves a "Baron Van Luckner" from a lynching, but Jimmy McClure gets lured after a "mountain of gold" in the Superstition Mountains. Blueberry hunts the gold-hunters, but so do two bounty hunters, Blount and "Crazy" Cole. Blueberry is nearly buried alive, dead of thirst, and shot at, while Jimmy is staked out, but eventually they push on to Dead Horse Mesa...

Synopsis
Blueberry, Jimmy, and Blount track Luckner up Dead Horse Mesa, a death trap of rolling stones, tripwire guns, rattlesnakes, and quicksand. Blount and Luckner "partner up", but a wild man "ghost" haunts them, shooting golden bullets. Blueberry discovers the wild man is the REAL Baron Luckner, who found Coronado's map in a Dutch monastery and came for the gold, and was betrayed by his servant. "Luckner" dynamites the mesa down on our heroes, and dodges Apaches. But Blueberry and Jimmy nail him in New Orleans as he boards for Europe - now bound for the hangman's noose.

Synopsis
A cowboy joins the buffalo hunts, but a mysterious rider, the "King of the Buffalo", drives the herd at will. A cowboy named Jackson bullies a local Indian, but our hero learns Peetatchala is the "King". The herd will go to benefit the Cheyenne, and the bully learns a lesson in tolerance.
