Synopsis
Thor battles the Cobra and Mr. Hyde while Jane Foster hovers close to death. Odin's heart begins to soften towards Jane, thanks to the intervention of Balder. Odin, in his infinite wisdom, commands Loki to deliver a message to Hardol, the mystic healer, who lives beyond the molten chasm. Loki has no choice but to obey but is waylaid by Balder and some other gods who, for some reason, distrust him. Balder delivers the message himself. Thor defeats the Cobra and Hyde. Balder finds Hardol, obtains the medicine needed for Jane's recovery and sends it to Thor in the nick of time. Jane will live!

Synopsis
When out walking with Balder and Loki, Thor is challenged to a duel by Sigurd. They fight and Thor knocks Sigurd to the ground repeatedly. However, each time Sigurd gets up he is stronger than ever. Balder remembers the key to Sigurd's increasing strength. He is a son of the Earth Sprites; his strength comes from the very ground itself. Thor hooks his hammer under Sigurd's belt and flings him skywards where he will be stranded on a deserted asteroid. The three gods continue their way home, with Loki disappointed that Thor was not defeated.

Synopsis
Two rival fan clubs are debating who is stronger, Thor or the Hulk? Thor happens to be passing by and drops in to offer his opinion. He relates the story of their epic battle (in Avengers #3) and describes a previously unseen scene in which he and the Hulk tussle. He goes into deep thought and when pressed, cannot say who is the stronger because he has insufficient proof! Days later, the Hulk gives thought to his meeting with Thor and vows that, next time, Thor will be smashed forever!

Synopsis
Thor upsets Odin again by declaring his love for Jane Foster. Don Blake reveals his secret identity to Jane, but she doesn't believe him. He stamps his cane and nothing happens because, unknown to him, Odin has removed the enchantment which allows him to become the God of Thunder. The Grey Gargoyle appears and attacks Don and Jane. They flee. Odin sends Honir the Hunter to aid Blake. Honir distracts the Gargoyle and grants Blake the ability to become Thor for 30 seconds, long enough to defeat the Gargoyle. Blake assists Jane and retracts his earlier admission saying the madness has left him.

Synopsis
Loki uses his magic to turn Crusher Creel into the Absorbing Man. A patient of Blake's, reporter Harris Hobbs, alerts him the the existense of the Absorbing Man. Blake breaks a dinner date with Jane in order to investigate as Thor. Thor and Creel meet and fight. Hobbs witnesses the battle and is injured. Thor tends to Hobbs before resuming his battle. Balder then interrupts the fight by transporting Thor to Asgard. It seems that Loki has abducted Jane and brought her to the Golden Realm. Thor and Balder ride off to save her. Back on Earth, Creel believes he has defeated the Thunder God.

Aided by reporter Harris Hobbs and a courageous police unit, Thor tricks Creel into absorbing some helium gas. A gaseous, lighter-than-air Creel floats off into space. Thor returns to New York to gaze upon a sleeping Jane before returning to Asgard to face his trial.

Synopsis
Loki wins the Trial of the Gods through deceit and trickery. He broke the rules by using enchanted Norn Stones, which he now discards through a dimensional portal. Odin gives Thor 24 hours to prove Loki's dishonesty. On Earth, Balder has been battling the Enchantress and the Executioner who were tormenting Jane Foster. Thor arrives and the two villains flee. Thor flies to Vietnam in search of the Norn Stones. There he becomes involved in that country's war. He rescues a Vietnamese girl named Kim after her the rest of her family is killed as a result of their opposing ideologies.

Synopsis
The warriors of Asgard are bored and Loki has been able to stir up trouble among their ranks. Odin is furious and intervenes when Thor and Loki face each other in combat. Odin then shows them the state of the Odinsword. According to legend, the universe will perish if the sword is ever drawn from its scabbard. Now, an evil force has broken the scabbard. Odin sends his sons on a quest to find this unknown enemy and put an end to this evil scheme.

Synopsis
Thor seeks Loki's Norn Stones in Vietnam. A cruel hunter, aided from afar by Loki, shoots Thor with an anesthetic projectile and brings him down. The hunter then discovers the hidden temple of the Destroyer. The hunter's consciousness enters the Destroyer. It awakens and engages Thor in battle. Loki realizes he has made a mistake-- the Destroyer is too powerful! He tries to warn Odin. Unfortunately, this is the day of the Odinsleep and he may not be disturbed. The gods throw Loki into the "Dungeon of No Escape". The destroyer fires a bolt of elemental force at Thor which will surely kill him!

Odin tries to assist Thor, but Thor insists that he should wage his own battle. Thor prevails but damages his hammer, the Temple of Darkness is destroyed and Odin is consumed with pride at his son's gallantry. Odin summons Loki and berates him. Loki is punished by being bound in servitude to Ularic, Odin's Royal Warlock.

He tries to enlist the aid of the Avengers to find her, but discovers that most of his old allies have left the group. Hawkeye's brash attitude offends Thor and he leaves too. Loki, meanwhile, has used Ularic's enchantments to reach into outer space and bring back Thor's old foe, the Absorbing Man. He's not happy!

Synopsis
Thor and his companions set sail on a mission to defeat the forces of evil which threaten Asgard. They go with Odin's blessing but, within minutes, they are brawling amongst themselves. Loki defends Volstagg from Loki's cruelty. Magrat the Schemer wishes to be in favor with Loki and urges Kroda the Duellist to assassinate Thor. Kroda is prevented from doing so by Hogun the Grim and peace returns to the vessel and its crew. Back in Asgard, Odin reflects upon the wisdom of sanctioning such a quest.

Synopsis
Thor and Loki come across a pair of storm giants attacking the gateway from Asgard to Olympus. During the ensuing battle, Thor is accidentally transported to the fabled land and finds himself in combat with the mighty Hercules with neither party willing to back down. After a titanic battle, Zeus stops the conflict and proclaims them both worthy allies and friends. Thor is sent back to Asgard and Zeus closes the passage forever.
