Cobra's new agent, the Star-Viper, breaks into The Pit III headquarters in Utah and steals an experimental and expensive black box mechanism (receiver/ decoder/ datalink that can read every signal from any spy satellite the U.S. has) from under the Joes' noses, as two more Joes are introduced to the team. Meanwhile, on Cobra Island Fred and Baroness begin a secret affair as Serpentor begins his move to eliminate the both of them from Cobra leadership, while Minh continues his life stranded on the island after his boat was destroyed when he ferried Fred to the island with the Pogo (issue #64), as Cobra's new security expert Croc Master does his rounds.

Indexer Notes

we now know the underground base being built under a military base in Utah for some time by the Joes is the Pit III, the Joes' new headquarters (first named in this very issue itself).

of other note: another time a Joe animated commercial had nothing to do with the inside contents of the issue whatsoever.
