This story is in continuity and explains the post-1945 Captain America. It features the debut of the Spirit of '76 as the second Captain America and his death as well as the introduction of the Patriot as the third Captain America. The story with Adam II takes place after the last Patriot story in Marvel Mystery Comics #74, between All Winners Comics #19 and #21 and "explains" the missing case.
