Synopsis

Synopsis
Egg attaches himself to Dunk as his squire. Dunk has an encounter with Aerion who mistakes him for a stablehand. Dunk sells his horse to buy armor and watches Tanselle put on her puppet show. He asks Manfred to vouch for him so he can enter the tournament, but Manfred refuses.

Synopsis

On the morning of the combat, Dunk has only five and canvasses the rest of the knights for one more. When all seems lost, Prince Baelor rides in to take Dunk's side.

Synopsis
In the combat trial of seven, Dunk defeats Aerion, forcing him to withdraw his accusation. After the battle, Baelor removes his helmet to reveal a shattered skull and dies. At the funeral, his son, Valaar, bids Dunk to leave. Later, Maekar asks Dunk to keep Egg as his squire and also offers him a place in his household.
