Issue Notes

Cover title The Prisoner: Shattered Visage. Collects the stories from The Prisoner (DC, 1988 series), a miniseries sequel to the cult classic 1960s television series. An apparent second printing was issued with a date of October 2000. There were two versions released, one imprinted "DC Comics" and distributed to comics shops, and one imprinted "Warner Books" for mainstream retailers (the January 1991 date is found on the latter only, while the former has simply "1990").

Synopsis
A highly classified communication from MI-5 (British Intelligence) "Excavations Officer" Thomas Drake to retired "Divisions Director" Mrs. Butterworth, setting up the events of the story to follow.

Indexer Notes

Alongside the text on the first page is a column of new comic panels; the other pages are illustrated by stills from the television series itself, some in black-and-white, some hand-colored, one (of The Village) in actual color. "Mrs. Butterworth" was a character in the original TV series episode "Many Happy Returns", while "Drake" is also the surname of the character "The Prisoner" star, etc., Patrick McGoohan played in his prior series "Danger Man" (US title: "Secret Agent"), John Drake, and whom many fans feel is the same man as Number Six/The Prisoner.
