Synopsis
With Batman's help, Superman tracks down the third Kryptonian that the Auctioneer found on Earth. After an initial confrontation, they talk, and she tells her story. She and other Kryptonians were serving as peacekeepers in the Kryptonian Empire's Navy, but decided to go AWOL when recalled to Krypton after a shift from a military-based empire to a science-based government. After many years of piracy and adventure, including killing people, she met and paired off with Ro-Kul. They left piracy behind, and settled down for over a century. On a visit with other Kryptonians on a local planet, they were attacked by Amalak, but were able to escape and go on the run. But over time, all other known Kryptonians were tracked down and killed, including Ro-Kul. After decades on the run, she hears about Superman, and goes to Earth to hide in his shadow, figuring any attack on him would be an early warning to leave. As she prepares to leave, Amalak (who has been listening in) attacks.

Synopsis
Amalak's forces attack Supergirl, Power Girl, and Krypto, while Amalak himself goes for Superman and Karsta, the third Kryptonian that Superman just found. Karsta runs, but Superman attacks, and is overwhelmed by weapons intended for Kryptonians. After hearing that they are looking for others and especially Kandor, he retreats, warning Lois to get Chris to safety before he's attacked. Amalak has let him go to track him to Kandor. Superman goes to his old Amazon fortress, and is overcome there by Amalak. He puts a brain-ripper on Superman and himself to pull the location of Kandor, but Superman's incredible will overcomes it, causing feedback and allowing Superman to read Amalak's mind. He finds out that Amalak's people rebelled against Krypton's empire, and Dru-Zod ordered the entire population of the planet Rinoti to be destroyed as an example. Amalak returned from being off-planet, and discovered what happened, and vowed vengeance. Supergirl, Power Girl, and Krypto rescue Superman, but Amalak had gotten enough from Superman's mind to know that Kandor is in Superman's Arctic fortress, and goes there. Batman, who had been listening when the attack started, goes to that fortress to defend it using a Kryptonian battle suit. He manages to delay Amalak long enough for the others to escape from Amalak's men and go to the fortress. But Amalak has found Kandor, just to discover it's not the one he was looking for; it's not Kryptonian. He dashes it to the ground, and it disappears. The fight is on, with Superman's team losing, until Chris (who has been listening) can stand it no longer, and joins in. And finally, Karsta, changing her mind about fleeing the planet, also joins in, and together they finally defeat Amalak. Karsta decides to take him and his crew to the space authorities, facing any consequences of her previous actions too.

Indexer Notes

Terabithia is likely a reference to the "Bridge to Terabithia" book/movies, but could also be a reference to an island in "Prince Caspian" and "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" by C. S. Lewis called Terebinthia. Per Kurt (in a question and answer session on Superman Homepage on 2007-12-04), the reference to Kara being from Kandor is a mistake; it should be Argo.

Synopsis
Jonathan Kent is up in the middle of the night, trying to make coffee, even though he's not supposed to be having caffeine. Martha catches him, and together they worry about Clark, who has gone missing in the Last Son storyline. Jonathan remembers back to a time that he and Clark snuck away, and went to the fortress. Superman made a spaceship, and they took off to do some sightseeing. They received a distress signal; a star system was being threatened by a Sun-Eater. Superman found an alien fighter, trying to take a bomb to the Sun-Eater, but it got disabled. He took the bomb, and despite being bombarded with red sun radiation, carried it into the Sun-Eater, and detonated it. Exhausted, Superman couldn't out fly the explosion, but Jonathan caught up to him in the spaceship, and they escaped. They then returned to Earth, caught some fish as a cover story, and returned home. Jonathan tells Martha that they must never underestimate their son, no matter what the odds, and they go back to bed.
