Notes
Adapting the 1963-1989 British science fiction series. This magazine features comic strips consisting of serialized original stories featuring The Doctor as well as back-up strips featuring monsters and characters from the show, as well as reprints of other stories published by Marvel and articles and photo features. The Doctor Who strip features early work by Dave Gibbons, while Alan Moore wrote several of the back-up strips. As of issue #44 the magazine changed title (see Tracking notes) and became a monthly, with greater emphasis on articles, though the comic strip continued. Now known as Doctor Who Magazine, the magazine has published more than 420 issues as of late 2011 and is recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest-running magazine based upon a TV series. The comic strip, which continues to the present, is the longest-running uninterrupted comic strip based upon an English language TV series.
