The Hulk learns that Reed Richards and others conspired to keep him from returning to Earth. His ship crashes on the planet Sakaar, where he is captured and forced to fight as a gladiator for the amusement of the Red King, Emperor of Sakaar.

Synopsis
The Hulk forges alliances with several of his fellow gladiators, creating a mightier force that proves popular with the audience. An insurgency movement attacks the arena, offering Hulk and his new friends a chance to escape.
Caiera offers Hulk a way out of the arena but he refuses her. The Emperor's Death's Head guards attack the arena during a match, killing Captain Skee and forging an even stronger bond among the gladiators.
The Silver Surfer was drawn to Sakarr in a weakened condition and enslaved by the Emperor to fight the Hulk and his allies in the arena. The slaves are freed from the Emperor's control and revolt, tearing down the arena and escaping.

Synopsis
Hulk and his crew continue to gain allies against the Emperor, and even the Emperor's followers begin to believe that the Hulk is the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy.
The ties between Hulk and his allies begin to splinter. Caiera and Hulk fight to a stalemate, then unite against the Emperor's latest gambit - releasing the Spikes.
As the battle with the Spikes continues, Miek's queen is infected and must be destroyed. Hiroim and Caiera decide to enlist the help of the Shadow Elders against the Emperor.

Synopsis
The Shadow Elders want to test the Hulk to prove that he is the prophesied Sakaarson, but Hulk refuses and leaves, stealing their spaceship. The Emperor lures Elloe into a trap but Hulk arrives to save her.
The shuttle that brought the Hulk to Sakaar explodes, killing millions of his new subjects, including Caiera, his queen. Hulk and his fellow warriors decide to return to Earth for revenge.
Teen super-genius Amadeus Cho discovers that the Illuminati shot the Hulk into space and tells Reed Richards that the rocket didn't land where they had planned.
