Description:

Ian Nottingham is of Native American and English descent, and a Captain of the Special Airs Service for the MI5. He is indebted to both the Yakuza and Kenneth Irons, and has worked for both. Because of the special testing and conditioning that Nottingham has undergone as a part of his training and experience in the field, he is the only man who has so far been able to wield the Witchblade successfully. Unfortunately, the gauntlet controlled him entirely, and it chose Sara Pezzini over him when the two met in battle. Ian Nottingham goes on to later wield Excalibur (the legendary sword given to King Arthur by the Lady of the Lake), which he also loses to Sara, as it turns out to be a part of the Witchblade, and she reunites the two pieces. Nottingham finally ends up wielding another of Top Cow's 13 Artifacts, The Blood Sword, but it is stolen from him along with the Glacier Stone. He manages to recover the Blood Sword from its thief, but the whereabouts of the Glacier Stone are still unknown.
