Rose Forrest

English

Disambiguation: Rose & Thorn

First published in: 1970

Description:
Originally, Rhosyn "Rose" Forrest was severely traumatized as a young girl when she saw her father's body being pulled from the river after he was killed. She became obsessed with avenging his death and developed a split personality who would sleepwalk and wear a costume while seeking vengeance on the 100, the crooks who were responsible for her father's death. In 2004, when DC rebooted the series, the character's origin changed a bit: both parents were murdered by the 100 and Rose, an orphan, mutilated her parents' attacker when she was 12-years-old, which landed her in a psychiatric care home. The "treatments" they gave her there made her personality split more defined and she became Thorn officially for the first time to avenge the murder of her roommate.
Notes:

First appearance of Rose and Thorn was in Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane (DC, 1958 series) #105 (October 1970).

Rose and Thorn was created by writer Robert Kanigher and artist Ross Andru.
