Happy Terrill

English

Disambiguation: The Ray / Neon

First published in: 1940

Description:
In April 1940, Happy Terrill, a reporter for The Morning Telegraph, was aboard Professor Styne's experimental strato-balloon, when the craft was caught in a cosmic storm. In order to protect the rest of the crew, Happy crawled outside to close the outer air cock. Exposure to the cosmic storm transformed him into a being capable of utilizing light. He used his new power to become the crimefighter named The Ray.

Happy later had a son Joshua Terrill (Spitfire) with his first wife Gayle, and another son Raymond Terrill (the second Ray) with his second wife Nadine.

More recently, The Ray sought help from Neon the Unknown (Tom Corbet) to save his son Raymond. When Neon refused, The Ray drank from the waters of his magical oasis, gaining new powers and becoming the new Neon.
