Description:
In the Zenescope Entertainment comics universe, specifically in the tale of Sleeping Beauty, Ophelia was one of 12 wise women who made up a sorority with power and clout in the kingdom. She was no longer a member of this sorority, and so she was not invited to the birth celebration of the princess, as was the custom. This made her vengeful, so she came to the celebration and cursed the infant to prick her finger at age 16 and fall into a deep sleep which could only be broken with true love's kiss. In the Zenescope treatment of this story, those who fail to wake the princess immediately decompose and die, and should she be woken but the true love not last, the curse would be reinstated and that suitor would also meet his doom.
