Notes:

David Knight first appeared as Starman in Starman (DC, 1988 series) #26 (September 1990). He died in Starman (DC, 1994 series) #0 (October 1994).

It was revealed in Starman (DC, 1994 series) #77 (May 2001) that David Knight was transported through time to December 1951 from the moment before his death. He learned that Dr. Charles McNider (Doctor Mid-Nite) had been covering for Ted Knight (Starman) for the past 11 months. Dr. McNider had responsibilities that he had to attend to, so David agreed to take over for him as this era's Starman. David acted as Starman for a month, then was transported back to his own time where he subsequently died. The mysterious Starman of 1951 was first mentioned in The Shade's Journal in Starman (DC, 1994 series) #2 (December 1994). He first appeared in a cameo and a profile page in Starman Secret Files (DC, 1998 series) #1 (April 1998). The first full appearance of McNider's Starman of 1951 was in Starman 80-Page Giant (DC, 1999 series) #1 (January 1999). The first full appearance of David Knight's Starman of 1951 was in Starman (DC, 1994 series) #76 (April 2001).
