First published in: 1964

Description:
Capt. William Storm was a PT boat commander in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Notes:

Created by Robert Kanigher and Irv Novick.

Captain William Storm first appeared in Capt. Storm (DC, 1964 series) #1 (May-June 1964).

Captain Storm was believed killed in Our Fighting Forces (DC, 1954 series) #135 (January-February 1972). He was found alive, minus his right eye, in issue #141 (January-February 1973).

There has been conflicting information on Captain Storm's fate. According to Crisis on Infinite Earths (DC, 1985 series) #3 (June 1985), in Pre-Crisis continuity he was killed by the Anti-Monitor's Shadow Demons in late Spring 1945 (narration refers to the end of the war in Europe, but incorrectly says 1944). The circumstances of his death in the Post-Crisis continuity were shown in The Losers Special (DC, 1985 series) #1 ([September] 1985). He was shown to be alive in 1976 in DCU: Legacies (DC, 2010 series) #4 (October 2010). According to Superman (DC, 2016 series) #8 (Early December 2016) and #9 (December 2016), he had become stranded on Dinosaur Island in 1945 (this was a sequel to the non-canon story in DC: The New Frontier (DC, 2004 series) #1 (March 2004)). He was rescued from Dinosaur Island and brought back to the present day by Superman in Superman Special (DC, 2018 series) #1 (July 2018).
