Biography: Jacques van Melkebeke was a Belgian painter, journalist, art critic, comics writer and cartoonist. A friend of Hergé and Edgar P. Jacobs, he was one of the founders of Tintin magazine and served as its first chief editor while also contributing many scripts and articles.
