Biography: Kate Osann is the creator of the comic strip Tizzy. She grew up in New York City and was a graduate of Hunter College. She did ads and illustrations for popular magazines. Her teen humor panel Tizzy first appeared in Collier's and when that magazine folded in 1957, the strip was picked-up by NEA where it ran until 1970. Several Tizzy books were published during the late 1950s and 1960s.
Notes: Some paperback collections of her cartoons were credited as "Kate O'Sann".
Over 600 original cartoon panels from the comic strip Tizzy (1966-1968) are in the Kate Osann Cartoons Collection at Syracuse University's Special Collections Research Center.
