Biography: Leatherbarrow worked about 17 months as a letterer and background artist assistant for Alex Raymond on the comic strip Rip Kirby, from 1950 to 1951.
He seemed to have left comics after that point, continuing his career as a commercial artist (1952), layout man (1957), an art director (from 1958 to 1961), in art production (by 1963), and lastly as a photographer (by 1971) for Dauntless Publications. Leatherbarrow is known to have also done paintings.
