Biography: Field was best known as a pulp writer in the 1920s-1930s. He was the comics editor from 1939 to 1940 for Hillman, continuing as their magazine editor from 1940 to 1949.
He legally changed his name from Anatole Feldman to Anatole Field circa 1935. Field was a poet around the World War 1 era and a playwright and actor in the 1920s.
After leaving Hillman, he continued as a magazine writer and editor. His wife, Hedwig Langer Field, was also a writer in comics working as Beech Allen.
