National Radio Institute Home Study Course

English

Type: ad

Created in: 1940?

Notes:
Originally formed in Washington, D.C. in 1914 to teach students to become radio operators in a classroom setting, the National Radio Institute, formerly the National Radio School, eventually became entirely a home study mail-order operation in 1923.
In and about 1943, the ads featured the book "Win Rich Rewards in Radio" and used the name National Radio Institute, with J. E. Smith as President. Some previous ads used the name J. E. Smith Company.
In business until 2002, the company offered courses in many technical fields and their advertisements were very familiar to readers of several well-known technical magazines as well as many comic books.
