Origin retold in Blackhawk (Quality Comics, 1944 series) #50 (March 1952) and #71 (December 1953). Publication moved from Quality Comics to DC Comics with Blackhawk (DC, 1957 series) #108 (January 1957). Origin retold in issue #164 (September 1961), #198 (July 1964), and #251 (October 1982). The Blackhawks became super-heroes from issue #229 (February 1967) to #241 (June-July 1968).
