Synopsis
In the present, a high-brow thief makes off with the Mona Lisa and Batman races to get the painting back. In the past, the real Mona Lisa is kidnapped and Da Vinci's young Medici apprentice takes on the role of a "bat-man" to rescue her.

Indexer Notes

This is not technically an Elseworlds story as it indicates that the past adventure with a Medici as a costumed hero actually took place and that this precursor to Batman was originally included on the Mona Lisa canvas but was painted over.
