Jean-Marc Lofficier explains in an interview: "When Roy took over the helm of Avengers West Coast, he inherited a plot (... )in which Immortus manipulated various characters in history, including the Scarlet Witch. (...) One of the first things Roy did was ask me to solve this plot. So I wrote several pages of "flashback" for Avengers West Coast # 61 (published in 1990) to explain all this.
