Indexer Notes

Buckler and Ayers shared the art chores. Buckler appears to have drawn part or all of pages 1, 2, 4-5, 7-8, 13-16 and 19. Ayers pencils on pages 3, 6, 9-12, 17-18 and 20-21. Uncredited DeZuniga inks on pages 3, 9, 17-18 and 20-21. The rest of the inking may be Buckler. Info per Nick Caputo, January 2018.

This issue makes references to Mighty Crusaders #1 (Red Circle, 1983) where the Shield's stopping a jewel heist is first shown. Hangman, Firefly, Steel Sterling, Captain Flag and the Fox are all shown to be members of the Crusaders. John Raymond -- the original Web-- appears to be the father of the current Web. This appears to be a pieced-together story. Lots of background on the Shield, especially Bill Higgins (Joe's son and the 1960s Shield).
