June and Fred meet at a dance, but she’s already going steady with Bert. However, Bert and June soon break up, but June doesn’t know how to contact Fred. June’s best friend Alma says she’s going steady, and June thinks Fred is her new boyfriend. Everything is eventually sorted out: Alma is dating Bert, and Fred is just a friend. There is a double wedding: Alma-Bert and Fred-June.

Linda sees Pat at a wedding rehearsal: she had previously loved him, but thought he had died in a plane crash. Pat tracks her down and says he still loves her, but Linda doesn’t want to hurt the other woman and runs away. Pat finds her once again and explains: he was just filling in for the groom, his cousin, who has the same name. Pat and Linda will also get married.
Susie and Bob have been sweethearts since childhood, but when he goes off to college she begins to date fellow worker Grant. When Bob finds out, he and Grant give Susie 24 hours to choose between them. When Susie goes to the park to meet them, only Bob is there. She’s relieved because he was her choice.

Sam kisses his friend Angela at a New Year’s party but thinks nothing of it. He graduates from college thanks to the tutoring of “Brains,” one of Angela’s friends. Sam gets an engineering job against the odds and later learns the boss is Angela’s godfather. Before he leaves for a long job, Sam proposes to Angela, whom he now realises he loves.
