Synopsis
It is Peter's first day on the job as a detective and even being the captain's son doesn't prepare him for the shock of finding one of Xavier's sociopathic X-Men kids brutally murdered and washed up on the shore. When the police make little effort to solve the crime, reporter Tom Halloway tries to get to the bottom of the affair and interviews a number of colorful underworld characters including imprisoned shrink, Xavier, himself. Inspired by the pulps heroes, Tom puts on a costume and tracks down the X-Men but gets a less than friendly reception.

Synopsis
Once reporter turned pulp inspired hero, Tom Halloway, convinces the X-Men that he wants to help them find Jean Grey's killer, he takes them back to his base of operations--the abandoned Welfare Penitentiary where he grew up surrounded by criminals (his father was the warden). Tom rescues Anne-Marie, another of Xavier's charges who has amazing powers of mimicry, from the police who want to use her to take down crime boss Unus. Cyclops tracks down one of Jean's other lovers, the boat captain, Logan, who wields a deadly set of claws.

Synopsis
Tom intervenes in the battle between Cyclops and Logan as he knows that the salty sea captain didn't kill Jean Grey. Police detective Peter Magnus kills crime boss Remy LeBeau for beating up his sister (she owed him money from gambling debts). In order to secure his release from prison, Captain Magnus tells his son that he must kill rival gangster, Unus the Untouchable. With the X-Men as backup, Tom flies in as the Angel and saves Unus from Peter.

Synopsis
Angel and the X-Men have rescued crime boss, Unus, and killed his would-be assassin, police detective Peter Magnus, in the process. Captain Magnus, itching for revenge for the death of his son, starts an all out manhunt for the X-Men. Catching up with them at Welfare Penitentiary, guns blaze as the police have it out with Xavier's charges. Once the lead stops flying, Tom tells Anne-Marie that he knows the secret of the brutal murder of Jean Grey and then reveals a profound secret of his own. As the only X-Men left alive, Angel and Cyclops sail off into the sunset with sea captain, Logan.
