Commissioner Grundy thinks Eddie should fire one of the teachers who he thinks is courting one of his students. But Eddie tells a story of a similar case when he went to school where an 18-year-old high school senior fell in love with his 21-year-old teacher.
When Aunt Sophie sends her a diary for writing her "love secrets", she gets frustrated because she doesn't even have a boyfriend to write about. She attempts to throw the diary into the waste basket, but it bounces through the window and hits Jack on the head. She eventually marries Jack and finds other uses for the diary, but none of them involve writing anything in it.
When Anne sees Betty kissing Vic, she throws her engagement ring at him and decides she never wants to see him again. Things stay that way until Betty tells Anne that there was nothing between Vic and her.
