Synopsis
Army Shanks plans to abandon Canada and the Arctic with a one-way trip to the other pole, but stops to rescue a teen-aged girl under attack on the docks. Meanwhile, Captain Sztab brings his huge Siberian vessel into Canadian waters, hoping to go unnoticed for as long as possible. Barty tells school children about the High Arctic League (HAL), comprised of representatives from the seven nations bordering the Arctic Ocean.

Synopsis

Synopsis

Synopsis
Captain Sztab informs the ambassadors that he is about to launch a rocket on a for-profit venture to obtain a lunar element that will solve the world's energy problems. Certain that Sztab is covering up for a planned attack, Barty dynamites the empty High Arctic League headquarters, intending to sacrifice himself and blame it on Stzab, so that Canada will have a justification to board Sztab's ship. But it appears that Shanks, Arluk, and Molniya are in the headquarters too.

This fits in with Arluk's inspiration to thwart Sztab: regather the Canadian Arctic Space Agency personnel, reactivate Crater XV, and launch a Canadian mission to the moon.

Synopsis
As Barty and Stwalley search for Sztab's motive, Army Shanks shares memories of the orphanage with Molniya. Molniya attempts a mediumistic search for Wendy, which will only work if Wendy's dead. Richter slowly realizes that even though launch preparations are actually under way, RCAN has been defunct for years. Sztab's crew are almost ready to begin secretly extracting oil (the true purpose of their mission after all), but get no help from Sztab, despondent over the loss of Molniya and the death of his dreams of space.

Synopsis
Arluk and his men prepare for the morrow's launch. Sztab, having learned of the launch, abandons his ship and strikes out for Crater XV. Richter Front, at last cognizant of the long years of deception, walks away from the mission. Army Shanks finally recognizes that the woman Molniya is not the long-lost child Pravda, even as Molniya reads her own mediumistic message: "Stop lying to him."

Synopsis
As Army and Sztab battle in the shadow of the rocket, the American air force destroys the rocket so as to block the Canadian mission. Molniya reveals that she had pretended to be Pravda in order to protect her husband. Even though she had fallen in love with being Pravda, she remains true to Sztab. Arluk reveals that the destroyed rocket was actually a decoy, and blasts the real rocket into space.
