Synopsis
An English lieutenant travels to Paris where he falls in love with a French girl. However, he receives news that his brother has died in an accident and responsibility for his brother's three little girls falls to him. Feeling it wouldn't be fair to his young girlfriend, he returns to England, leaving only a letter stating that something so grave has occurred that he must say goodbye forever. Two years later, the man who heads his household staff puts an ad in the newspaper seeking a governess who can speak French.
