Letters from James Randi [The Amazing Randi] (Rumson, NJ) and Mark Evanier (Los Angeles, CA) taking issue with the presentation of Uri Geller as having paranormal powers in Daredevil #133. Geller responds with a letter with six brief references saying his paranormal powers are not tricks: H. Puthoff, Ph.D. and Russel Targ, Stanford Research Institute; Wilbur Franklin, Ph.D, Kent State University; John Hasted, Ph.D., Birkbeck College, University of London; John G. Taylor, Ph.D., King's College, University of London; Artur Zorka, Society of American Magicians, Atlanta, Ga.; and William E. Cox, Institute of Parapsychology, Durham, NC. Marv Wolfman is quoted in the letters responses as being "extremely careful not to take his eyes off of Uri" during Geller's presentation in the Marvel offices.
Stan's Soapbox notes Marv Wolfman is returning to full-time writing and that Larry Lieber is producing the Great Britain Marvels. Also Simon and Schuster has published "The Mighty Marvel Superheroes Fun Book." In other news, Roy Thomas visited the Bullpen and is planning on moving to California, Steve Englehart is moonlighting as a professional astrologer, the Bullpen gang meets for lunch every Friday at the Brillo Coffee Shop, and Steve Gerber is now selling "Howard the Duck for President" buttons. Also a plug for Captain America's Bicentennial Battles (Marvel Treasury Edition) with cover depicted.
