Indexer Notes

Winner of the 1962 "Best Book-Length Story" Alley Award.

This issue was originally published around the same time as Justice League of America #11. This is the first time the Justice League encounters Adam Strange. An editor's note explains that this story takes place prior to JLA #4, in which Flash nominates Adam Strange for Justice League membership. It is also stated that it takes place after JLA #3, where the League previously defeated Kanjar Ro. This issue was originally solicited to be included in Justice League of America Omnibus Volume 1, but was left out, and was instead added to the beginning of Volume 2. The trade paperback series Justice League of America: The Silver Age (2016 series) places this story between JLA #3 and #4.

O. Morrow (villain); Red Tornado
Synopsis
At one of the JSA's meetings, a new Red Tornado interrupts the group, claiming he is the original one, when the JSA knew the original one (Ma Hunkle), who just as suddenly as she entered in on their first meeting left. They give this new Tornado a chance to show his heroism, but every time the JSA is about to defeat a group of criminals, the Tornado interferes, casuing them to 'die' in battle. Helpless to stop this, he goes to Earth-1 to enlist the JLA's aid, since he learns it was T.O. Morrow who was behind the JSA's 'deaths'.
