- Synopsis
- Laura, a nurse, admires Julien, a surgeon she works with. On their first date, he asks her to marry him. She is stunned, but accepts. They leave Paris to honeymoon on his estate in Normandy, which is picturesque, but isolated. When she slips and falls in a nearby river, one of her husband's patients who was there fishing, jumps in and saves her. With the patient holding her against him with their wet clothes clinging together suggestively, Julien comes upon the scene and assumes the worst. Eventually, Julien's jealousy causes Laura to fear for the patient's life.
