- ...and another thing, Derek Simpson's coming home next week.
- Genre
- romance
- Characters
- Davy; Val; Miriam; Derek Simpson
- Synopsis
- Miriam learns that Derek is returning after being in the merchant navy for three years. She digs through her things to find an old photo of him and reads her diary entries as she reminisced about being in love with him. Things seemed to cool between them and neither seemed too upset when he had left. She decides to give herself a new hair-do and buy a new dress to show him what he's missed. When he returns, he asks her out for old time's sake. Twelve days later, they had gone out twelve times, all "just for old time's sake". Once again her diary entry claims they love each other.
As is typical with this feature, Davy and Val are only portrayed in the first panel as the people who decide which story to publish that week.
